Going On A Bear Hunt

Well, not too long ago I wrote about a certain Mac lipstick that has become a bit of a legend. Some lucky folks are able to restock as much as they like, others treasure theirs more preciously than Gollum, were as a fair few believe it's existence to be a mere Urban Myth.

Incase you haven't cottoned on to what on earth I'm going on about, it is the infamous Velvet Teddy by Mac Cosmetics. This lippie has become a huge, and I mean HUGE cult product and is notorious for selling out of stores. I too have had trouble getting my desperate hands on it!

However, I have come across a way of making your own Velvet Teddy! I know what you're thinking, why not keep this information to myself, or sell it to the highest bidder, but I couldn't do that to you all!

What you need to do is line your entire lips with Mac's lip pencil in Spice, then apply Mac's Honey Love over the top.....

That's it, Bob's your Uncle, your very own Velvet Teddy dupe! Hopefully that will keep you all going while you wait to get hold of the real deal!

Cleaning your brushes, just got easy!

One of my New Year Revolutions is to start cleaning my makeup brushes more, yes I'll admit they can become a tad mucky.... but isn't it just THE most laborious job in the world? I have been very close to getting the Sigma Express Cleaning Mat  until I spotted this little fella in my local Superdrug. Its the Makeup Revolution Pro Cleanse Brush Tool and it claims to effectively clean your brushes quick and easy. Quick annnnnnnd easy? Well, this got my attention and being a fraction of the price of the Sigma mat, I had to give it a go.

There is a shampoo available to team with the brush tool, however, after reading a post by Zoe Newlove and which products she uses for cleaning her brushes I hot footed my way over to....you guessed it...Lush.

I grabbed a chunk of the Parsley Porridge, as recommended by Zoe for its anti-batrial properties and all round, lovely lushiness! The oats in the soap are moisturising so won't dry out any of your real hair brushes and the tea tree will clean out all the nasty bits.

I'll start out by wetting the brush, give it a swirl on the soap so it'll coated the use the brush tool. I would suggest to go easy on the ridges with your brushes, don't really want to force the hairs to stick out all over the place. Use gentle circular motions, the tool will do the hard work for you! Continue until the water running out off the brush is clear, oh and try not to turn your brushes upside down as getting water into the barrels can disturb the glue holding the hair in place!

There you have it, clean brushes that only took half the time to clean!

The Experimenter Lush Box

Take a look at this bad boy.... Is it not spectacular? It's no secret I am a HUGE Lush fan so naturally I was overjoyed to receive this for Christmas. {insert "boy did good" caption here} Once I had literally sniffed out this box, I dived into it, in a very Alice down the rabbit hole fashion, and wasn't seen until I had read the booklet from cover to cover and smelt the bath bombs roughly three times each.

Inspired by the concept of bath art and creating hypnotic swirling patterns with double- layered bath bombs. The Experimenter is the ultimate colour palette for your brand new creation.

Sounds very special indeed doesn't it? I don't think I'll want to waste any of these and spend up to a week in the tub every time I throw one in!

Take a look at the Gift Box here. It includes ten bath bombs that all have a variety of different scents and colours, bath time has never been so much fun!

Let me go through the different bombs, follow the image above from left to right:

(The green one that looks as though it belongs in Harry Potter)

(Very colourful and smells like Christmas)

(Unfortunately, Edward or Jacob not included)

Cyanide Pill
(Sadly no link to this one, but I must admit its a strong smelling number and look forward to seeing what it does in the bath!)

(Very strong citrus scent, this will be a great one if you need a bit of a boost)

(Lovely smell of sandalwood with this one, and no need to get into the downward facing dog...)

(You may probably guess that this contains avocado, so great if you are suffering with dry skin!)

(Let it go....)

(You will feel like Princess Leia)

(Now, don't be a fool and rush into the bath with anyone, don't want to get a name for yourself...)

Now, there you have it! Hope you enjoy checking out the Lush website! I particularly like the mini videos of the bombs in action! Did any of you get any lush treats for Christmas too? xo
