Going On A Bear Hunt

Well, not too long ago I wrote about a certain Mac lipstick that has become a bit of a legend. Some lucky folks are able to restock as much as they like, others treasure theirs more preciously than Gollum, were as a fair few believe it's existence to be a mere Urban Myth.

Incase you haven't cottoned on to what on earth I'm going on about, it is the infamous Velvet Teddy by Mac Cosmetics. This lippie has become a huge, and I mean HUGE cult product and is notorious for selling out of stores. I too have had trouble getting my desperate hands on it!

However, I have come across a way of making your own Velvet Teddy! I know what you're thinking, why not keep this information to myself, or sell it to the highest bidder, but I couldn't do that to you all!

What you need to do is line your entire lips with Mac's lip pencil in Spice, then apply Mac's Honey Love over the top.....

That's it, Bob's your Uncle, your very own Velvet Teddy dupe! Hopefully that will keep you all going while you wait to get hold of the real deal!

BooTea Review

I have heard and seen a lot about the BooTea Teatox and have always thought "I guess I can try that one day" That day never really came about until a few weeks ago when I bite the bullet and went for it.

I had recently had a baby and was feeling amazing! I felt the skinniest I'd ever felt and the most confident I have been in my own skin. My body had just preformed something spectacular and I was full to the brim with adrenaline and a sense of euphoria. The weeks went by and all this confidence started to become drowned by the old insecurities pushing their way back into my thoughts...stubborn bastards.... So I thought that was the time to take  action. Unfortunately I couldn't brush my sports bras off and hit the gym as I would have caused myself some damage. Instead I wanted to try the Teatox as a gentle way of getting back into the swing of things and feel good about myself.

I went for the 14 Day Teatox which comes with a Daytime Tea and Night Tea. The Daytime tea should be drunk every day for the two weeks, doesn't matter what time of day, just as long as you get it down ya! The Night Tea is drunk every other night, starting with Day one. It explains on the packet that you will experience laxatives effects whilst using this tea, if I'm honest, it isn't as terrible as I had imagined. I was picturing waking in the mornings feeling as though I won't make it to the bathroom in time, but it was absolutely fine and nothing a trusty scented candle couldn't disguise!

The tea has only natural ingredients in so you won't feel as though you are reading a list of Star Wars characters on the back of the packets, a big plus in my eyes and not a bleached white tea bag in sight! Now if you are used to green tea you won't mind the taste of this tea at all, if it's all new to you however, just try a drop of honey.

You are now all thinking "Yeah that's great, but did you notice a difference?" and I did! Don't get me wrong, I didn't drop to a size 8 overnight, but I did feel a lot less bloated! In total I lost about 5lbs of my post baby weight which is just what I needed to feel better about myself. It's as though this little Teatox has given me a leg up over my mummy tummy flabbiness, teaming it with a balanced, healthy diet and some exercise (mainly pushing the pram the long way home) I'm starting to feel like my old self again, only now, when I do some at home yoga stretches, I have a little coo-ing cheerleader on the sidelines swinging in her chair!

So if you are after a easy way to give yourself a little boost in the right direction, defiantly give this Teatox a go! You can find out more about BooTea here

Kylie Jenner Galore Magazine

So this is one for all you Kylie fans out there, a quick tutorial on how I achieved an look inspired from her recent shoot with Galore Magazine. I loved the subtle contouring and gorgeous chocolate looking lips!

I started by using the Eve Lom primer, focusing mainly on areas such as my nose and cheeks. I then used the Nars All Day Foundation with a damp beauty blender all over and used the Nars concealer for pin point concealing. This achieved a flawless finish with minimal level of coverage, I didn't want this look to become too cakey and draw the attention away from the lips and eyes.

Once the base was finished I went in with some very light contouring and highlighting. The Illamasqua Gel Sculpt gives the perfect look I was after which I then set with the shade Fawn in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit.

With the main base of the make up finished use a warm toned blush and a hint of highlighter on the high points of the face. Of course don't forget to give your brows! Kylie's ones are super sharp so I reckon using a pencil or pomade for a clean finish as powders give a more natural, bushy look.

For the eyes apply Mac's paint pot in Soft Ochre all over the lids and up to the brows to give the shadows great staying power. I then used all Mac shadows but you can use any you prefer in similar shades. For the first transition colour I went into the crease and over the lids with a cool toned mauve. Once that is nicely blended with a fluffy brush I deepend the outer corners of the eyes with a rich chocolate. Carry a mixture of these two colours down onto the lower lash line, Kylie has the shadows blended quite low on which can be a little unnerving if you're not used to wearing your shadows like this, trust me though, you are all able to pull off this look more than you think.

Next I used an Estee Lauder liquid liner to get the cat flick, focusing the thickness mainly on the outer corner of the eyes. For a look that gives your lashes a thicker appearance use a kohl pencil on the upper and lower waterlines, taking it right into the inner corners to get the almond shape Kylie's eyes have. Once that is all done finish it off with some mascara and your favourite falsies!

Now in my personal collection of lipsticks I didn't have the right shade of brown, so had a little play about with these two and managed to get something similar.... obviously give your lips some attention to achieve the perfect, over drawn Jenner pout!

There you have it! This look is obviously my interpretation of the make up so I haven't listed every single product I used as I thought you could all use your own goodies to give this look a go! However, saying that, if the shade of blusher or shadows are going to be something you obsess about, you will find a full list on my Instagram post.

Have fun with this look cake lovers xo

Lush Cravings

The other day I fancied getting myself a treat, it is good to now and then don't you know. I went to my usual hot spots for something that will satisfy my spoil yourself moment. I tried on shoes, strolled down makeup aisles, even gazed at freshly made cupcakes. Nothing tickled my fancy, nope this craving was more specific than I had anticipated, this was a Lush craving. So I followed my nose and found myself spending, what felt like hours, sniffing. I decided on my treats and dashed home, fighting the urge to throw them all in my bath at once.

The Butterball

The Butterball smells good enough to eat, even its name makes you want to sink your teeth into it. With Cocoa Butter to leave your skin feeling super silky soft and Ylang Ylang acting as your own spa at home aromatherapy claiming the nervous system by easing stress, anger and fear.

The Yuzu & Cocoa

This has to be my favourite of all time, I can't visit Lush without getting one! This macaroon shaped treat will hit the spot, and not the damage the waistline. Simply crumble this under running bath water if you need a little comfort. The coconut oil and cocoa will leave your skin feeling totally gorgeous, whilst the citrus oils will work away lifting your mood, perfect finish to a long day

The Sea Vegetable

Now, I personally can't take credit for buying this soap. I'm a bit shallow when it comes to bath bombs, you'll find me reaching for the prettiest looking or nicest smelling ones, not a soap that looks as though it's been dragged up from Davey Jones' Locker. Vain, I know... This little number was picked up by the boyfriend. I get the feeling that our recent visit to our favourite Spa has felt him feeling a bit blue having to return to work and not being able to stroll around in a hooded dressing gown. It has been seaweed this, and seaweed that and in all honesty, a relaxing bath is wasted on this man, so soap is the answer. The Sea Vegetable soap leaves the skin feeling soft with the help of the nutritious seaweed and exfoliating sea salt. It has a fresh, limey scent too which is perfect for a proper bloke's bath product.

The Honey Bee

This final bath bomb hasn't really not a strong smell like the others, to be honest, it was the name that got me! It has a lovely trio of products that will give the skin a bit of pampering and cleanse. Honey will leave the skin clean feeling, aloe vera will act as a soothing agent and the Rhassoul mud contains natural cleansing properties! Just what you need to feel squeaky clean and as soft as a baby's bottom!
